MINDSET IS DEEPER THAN YOU THINK

I recently discovered the fascinating field of epigenetics and learned how the food, environment, and habits of our parents, stretching back up to four generations, influence us today. Traits or habits that seem to have no clear origin might actually be part of our epigenetic inheritance. The term "epi-" means "on top of," and "genetics" refers to the science of heredity. This means that we can inherit not just genetic traits, but also lifestyle patterns.

Many of us carry generational trauma that affects our mindset. We might not understand why we react with anger, use physical discipline, or rarely express positive affirmations to our children. For example, my ancestors were slaves, and slaves were whipped and yelled at. I learned that slave parents often referred to their children as if they were damaged property, thinking that if the masters saw the children as inadequate, they would be less likely to sell them. This behavior was a defense mechanism that the slaves used that is visible in the lifestyles of many of their descendants today.

It’s Never Too Late to Turn Things Around

Unlike genetics, epigenetics can be altered by changing our mindset, much like updating software to improve its performance.

Transformational Mindset Coaching helps us slow down and identify our limiting beliefs so that we can address our own past. When we don't address the past, we risk perpetuating the same painful patterns we experienced in our own childhoods, no matter how much we wish for a different outcome.

Hello! I'm Angela Alexander

While updating my phone one day a question crossed my mind, “How can I help parents have a mindset update as it relates to communicating with their children?”

I noticed that many of us default to parenting the way our parents did, often without considering how their actions may have left us with trauma. Trauma that we learned to cope with or bury over time.

In 2019, my passion for transformational mindset coaching took off after I published Alex Goes to the Circus with my sons, Jalen and Evan. Reading the story at schools and during mommy-and-me groups led to organic, informative discussions called Chat & Color. While the children colored, parents would pick up valuable parenting tools woven throughout the story.

Feeling that I wanted to offer the parents more, I went through a parent coaching program through Jai Institute for Parenting. This program had such a profound impact on my mindset and the way that my husband Kenny and I parent, (with my husband's support) I became a certified parent coach through their program.  I also began studying and created a workshop on how Adverse Childhood Behavior (ACEs) and Epigenetics impact the way that we parent.

As a certified advocate and instructor, my heartfelt goal is to help other parents experience a transformative, faith-centered mindset. This program gave me the support I didn't know I needed until I started the process. When my mindset shifted, my relationships, especially with my children, naturally improved. This wasn't because I was trying to change them. It changed because I gained the resource that I could draw from.

I'm eager and hopeful to support you on your mindset reset journey!

"You have opened my eyes to the way I speak to my adult son. I’d hate someone speaking to me like that. I’m going to actively try very hard to change my words and my tone. THANK YOU! You made a difference here!"

"As you go forward with the coaching process I want you to know you are truly the perfect person to guide people through this program! Thank You, thank you, thank you!"

As a grandparent, I've used her techniques to foster better communication with my granddaughter. Angela's passion for nurturing healthy parent-child relationships is incredibly refreshing. If you want to improve your relationships with your little ones and how you think about and approach your role as a parent, grandparent, or guardian, I highly recommend her.

How It Works:

When you book a call with me, We'll sit down together to discuss what's going on with you and your family, allowing me to understand your situation and determine how I can best offer support.

I’ll explain my approach and the options we have for working together. You can ask any questions you have, and we will explore which type of support would best fit your life and schedule.

If it feels right to you, we can book our first session and get started.  If it's not a good fit, I will do my best to provide alternative resources or suggestions for support. There’s no pressure, just an opportunity to see if we are well-suited to work together.

"Thank you so much for coaching me through the Transformational Parenting Process. I have so appreciated your wisdom and insight. Thank you for being so open and vulnerable with me as you saw me struggling through difficult times."
